The Cycle is a competitive quest shooter, combining first-person shooter, survival and quest mechanics in one game. It takes place on and around the fictional planet Fortuna III and the title refers to a global storm raging on its surface, which gives the player only limited time to complete objectives. On the surface players can explore an alien world rich in minerals, resources and alien wildlife. The current match time is 20 minutes. If a player does not evacuate the planet within that time, they will be trapped by the storm.
