    Graphics Card Recommendations ?

Hey all! Put myself together a new computer and it's about time I upgrade my graphics card. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running a microatx motherboard in a thermaltake v21 case which is... a tight fit, so lower profile is great. I plan on doing heavy gaming and hacking; the 970 served me well but it's simply not performing as well on the newer games on higher graphics settings. Thank you for your input it is much appreciated !

    Specs:
    Asus Z370M
i7 9700k (plan on overclocking in future)
2x8gb 2133 Vengeance ( willing to upgrade if need be )
    rmx750 corsair psu
    dh-15s cooler
    gigabyte windforce gtx 970
    samsung evo ssd
    3 case fans
    windows 10 pro

    Budget: around $500

Personally unless you're going pro and going to compete, I still think the 1060-1080s are still relevant cards to consider. The new 16 series cards are probably more than enough for most gamers... In my opinion, the RTX cards don't offer enough benefits for me to pay the extra cash over the current 1070-1080... IMO..

    A 1070 is a safe bet.

The temperature will be high depending on the strain / how much stuff you have open and running.
