How do VAC Bans work these days ?

Hello everyone!
Like the title says how do VAC bans work these days ?
I want to hack on a CS GO smurf account but i CAN NOT have a VAC ban on my main account! (This has its reasons)
So say i make a new Steam account with a new Email and Pass ETC, and i start hacking on that, IF i do get banned will my main have a VAC too ?
If anyone can clear this up for me that would be awesome!~

Hello sir,

As long as you do not use the SAME telephone number on your CSGO Smurf account, your main account will not be affected :) You can hack as however you like.

Are you 100% sure about this :) ?
And btw i dont use any phone number at all

I am 100% sure about this. You can also google. Oh and I have many steam accounts with CSGO accounts, many of them are VAC banned, many are not :)
